Ingredients:
- 3 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 French rolls
- 8 slices provolone cheese
Instructions:
Along with the onion and garlic, put the beef chuck roast in the slow cooker
Soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, dried thyme, and black pepper should all be mixed together in a bowl
Pour it over the slow-cooked beef
Put the lid on top and set the heat to low
Cook for 8 hours, or until the beef is soft and can be easily shred with a fork
Take the beef out of the slow cooker and use two forks to shred it
Put the beef back into the slow cooker and keep it warm in the cooking liquid
Warm up the broiler
Put the French rolls on a baking sheet and cut them in half
Under the broiler for one to two minutes, until just beginning to turn golden
Using tongs, put shredded beef and slow-cooked caramelized onions in the middle of each roll
A slice of provolone cheese should be put on top
Put the filled rolls back under the broiler for one to two minutes, or until the cheese melts and starts to bubble
If you want to dip it, serve it hot with the cooking liquid from the slow cooker on the side
