Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Green food coloring optional
  • Assorted edible flowers for decoration

Instructions:

Warm up your oven to 350F 175C and put cupcake liners in a muffin tin

Add the cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt to a bowl and mix them together

Add the buttermilk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter to a different bowl

Mix them together using a whisk

If you want your cupcakes to look like spring, add a few drops of green food coloring

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ones and mix them together just until they are mixed

Be careful not to mix too much

Fill up about two-thirds of the way to the top of each cupcake liner with batter

After the oven is hot, bake the cupcakes for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean

Let the cupcakes cool for a few minutes in the pan, then move them to a wire rack to cool all the way down

Once the cupcakes are completely cool, put different edible flowers on top of them to make a springtime flower design

Serve your tasty flower cupcakes for spring and enjoy them
